Police Staff Investigators

We’re currently recruiting across a range of roles to support our growth

London is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world and policing it is no easy task. It takes a huge number of people with a wide range of skills and experience to keep over eight million people safe. Some of those skills include seeing opportunities in technology – and that’s where you come in.   We’re currently recruiting roles across a broad spectrum of disciplines to help keep London Safe.

Working within a tight-knit unit, we have vacancies in our Network, Planning, Development, LFR and Mechanical Engineering teams. The role is hands-on and you’ll need an appropriate qualification or suitable experience in a relevant  field. Above all, you’ll need a great aptitude for solving problems.  This recruitment will help support our unprecedented growth in Live Facial Recognition Capability (LFR).  Training will be given where appropriate.

Live Facial Recognition
Live facial recognition (LFR) has become a key example of how the Metropolitan Police is embracing innovation to meet the demands of modern policing.  Its successful deployment has supported the identification and arrest of individuals wanted for serious offences, improved operational efficiency, and strengthened public protection. For candidates applying to join the Met, LFR reflects the organisation’s commitment to using evidence-based technology responsibly, balancing effectiveness with ethical oversight, transparency, and public confidence. The continued development of this capability highlights the importance of professionalism, accountability, and adaptability — qualities that are central to roles within the Metropolitan Police.
